Each year, on All Souls, the brethren visit the three Cambridge cemeteries which contain the bodies of friars buried from Blackfriars, Cambridge, and are joined at the third by the Dominican sisters as well as Lay Dominicans. We light a candle, recite the De profundis, and sing the Salve regina, commending the souls of the departed to the loving mercy of God. We remember with thanksgiving those with whom we have shared our lives, and those long before us who handed on the torch – may they rest in peace!
