As of September 2014 Bruno Clifton will be added to the community in Cambridge. He introduces himself:

I entered the Order of Preachers as a novice in September 2002 and was ordained a priest in 2008. Since 2010 I have been studying for a Licence in Sacred Scripture at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, being assigned to the General Curia of the Dominicans at the Convent of Santa Sabina.

During my time at Biblicum, I have presented a number of papers, including ‘The use of the existential particle yeš and the relative ’ašer in the Book of Qohelet’; ‘Semantic-syntactic-accentual parallelism in Psalm 80’; ‘Comparative analysis of Genesis 15,9-11 and 22,2 in the Masoretic Text, Peshitta, Targum Onkelos, Targum Pseudo-Jonathan and Targum Neofiti’; ‘The false prophets: exegetical issues in Matthew 7,15’ and ‘A glutton and a drunkard: the law of the rebllious son in Deut 21,18-21’. My thesis was on ‘The meaning and use of nebalah in the Book of Judges’. Currently, I am preparing a paper on the intertextual connections between Deut 21,18-21, Jer 5,23 and Ps 78,8 and a short paper on the Burial of Jesus in Mark 15,42-47.

In coming to Cambridge I shall undertake doctoral research at the university, looking at the obligations of gift-giving in ancient societies as context for the Book of Judges with Dr Nathan MacDonald. I shall be at Emmanuel College.
